Wherever you go, you can always find privacy
Nothing beats coming back to the outdoors after a long day of hiking, swimming or exploring with a refreshing outdoor shower. It can be difficult to locate a private area to wash off, change clothes or use a portable toilet in a busy campsite. The Camping Shower Cubicle – 2Seconds meets this need with the instant solution it provides.
This pop-up privacy shelter, accessed by Decathlon’s patented 2Seconds technology, quickly sets up in just a few moments. No poles to thread, no complicated assembly, no frustration! Simply pull it out, drop it down and you’ve got a private, 2 metre-high changing and shower room ready to go. This cubicle offers privacy where there are no outdoor facilities, such as a music festival, beach, remote campsite, or even in your own backyard.
The 2Seconds Shower Cubicle is what?
This is no ordinary tent. It is a purpose-built Privacy Shelter built specifically for:
- Outdoor showers – for a solar shower or pressure shower, or one that can be hung up outside (roof free design).
- Change clothes – Private space to change swimwear for dry clothes.
- Use of portable toilets – Discreet shelter for chemical or camping toilets.
- Beach privacy – No more embarrassing awkwardness when changing into and out of swimwear.
- This cubicle has a comfortable stand height of 2 m and a base of 1 m (ground mat of 90 cm x 90 cm). You can walk around freely, prostrate yourself down to hang a shower bag, etc. without touching the walls.
Use 2Seconds Technology to setup in an instant!
The 2Seconds system is renowned for its simplicity. The fiberglass fibers are pre-made and pre-fabricated into the poles with an arch shape. No components to connect or thread.
How to set up:
- Take the cubicle out of its small carrier bag (62cm x 6cm).
- Keep people and pets more than 3m away.
- Hold the cubicle at arm’s length, using the center of the cubicle.
- Dislodge the strap – it will open immediately.
- For extra stability and wind protection, secure with 4 of the 4 pegs included.
- It is ready for use.
How to fold: Practise the twist and fold technique (online tutorial). The folded size is compact, which allows for easy storage and transportation.
Works with Solar Showers – Roof Free Design
This shower cubicle is different from a regular tent in that it doesn’t have a roof. This is not an accident; it’s very much realistic.
- Hang your solar shower bag through the open top of the solar shower – Solar shower compatibility. The design of the shower bag is without a roof, so that it can hang above the shower and the hose can reach down to you.
- Quechua pressure shower – If you’re using the pressure shower on the Quechua, there’s a handy rip tab on the cubicle wall for you to attach the shower hose to.
- Natural light – Open top allows daylight to enter; not showering in the dark.
- Cubicle bag can be used for your clean and dry clothes and hang from the outside hook – Pro tip. This will make it easy to change clothes and prevent it getting wet.
2m High with a base area of 1 sqm.
The size of the Camping Shower Cubicle offers true comfort:
Standing height: 2 m – Recommended for most adults.
Base: 1 square meter – 1 square meter ground mat (90cm x 90cm) – Adequate space to move, bend, dry off.
The ground mat is easily removable for cleaning and it is a bit bigger than other competitor shower tents, providing you with more space for your feet.
Privacy You Can Trust – Fabric Screen
Great privacy from passers-by by the fabric screen. It is important to remember, however, that it is a double edged sword:
By day: The lightweight, light-absorbing fabric allows natural light to penetrate, helping you to see what you’re doing.
At night: If there is a light inside, the fabric will be slightly transparent on the outside. Daytime, the designers opted to use a lighter material to keep the cube bright, but at night, make sure there is lighting within the cube. If total privacy at night is necessary, try to use a dim light, or move the cubicle away from busy spots.
Wind resistance and wind stability.
This is a pop up shelter that needs to be anchored for outdoor use.
Recommendations:
- Always attach the cubicle to the ground with the 4 given pegs.
- Do not use in high winds (over 30 km/h recommended limit).
- To increase stability, put a heavy object (such as a full water bag) on the windward side inside.
- The fiberglass poles (100% glass fiber) provide excellent breakage resistance.
Easy to carry and light weight – just 1.9 kg.
This shower cubicle only weighs 1.9kg which is extremely light. The folded shape (62 cm x 6 cm disc) with a convenient single handle strap makes it easy to carry.
Where it fits:
- Inside of any car in the trunk without taking up much space.
- Mounted on the back of a backpack at hike-in campsites.
- In a suitcase for destination trips to camp.
- When looking for beach bags, consider a beach tote for day trips.
- The 2Seconds Shower Cubicle is the ultimate in simple shower stalls, as opposed to large changing tents with cumbersome frames.
Important: Not Waterproof
This is an important characteristic to grasp. Camping Shower Cubicle is NOT waterproof.
What this means:
- Water will be collected in the water ground mat, which is covered with the fabric (there is a removable mat).
- Will not retain the water as does a bathtub floor.
- The cloth will allow water to flow through it, rather than remaining inside.
- This will stop the cubicle from becoming a damp, cumbersome muddle.
- Do not use it to shelter from the rain – it’s for showering and changing, not camping in the rain.
This is not the product to use if the cubicle is intended for use as a rain guard or water catcher. Use as directed: a fast privacy screen for outdoor washing and changing.
Who Is This Shower Cubicle For?
- Campers and RV vacationers – Get a private shower room at your campsite.
- Festival attendees – Use unsanitary, crowded public showers.
- Beach goers – Change your clothes in private after swimming.
- Hikers and backpackers – Lightweight privacy for backcountry hygiene.
- Parents and children – Easy outdoor changing station.
- Van lifers and overlanders – Compact solution which packs flat.
- Gardeners and do-it-yourselfers – convenient outdoor change room for dirty work.
Recommendations for Best Experience
- Peg up 4 corners – Remember to peg the 4 corners (even when they appear calm).
- Hang your towel – use the included inside strap.
- Hang the carry bag – Place the clothes in the bag and hang the bag on the outside hook for easy access to dry clothes.
- Lower risk during nighttime – When illuminated by the light at night, take note of silhouettes. A dim warm light is not as clear as a bright white light.
- Understand its capacity – Not waterproof. Not for heavy rain. Not for permanent installation.
